The Swoop Suit is an FS suit that is named after swooping (during freefall, not under canopy). This is the action of a skydiver swooping (diving) down and braking at the appropriate altitude.
The Swoop Suit is our most versatile RW suit because of all the options to adjust the fall-rate. With one suit, it is possible to change the fall rate from a fast fall, with spandex forearms and a disengaged swoop cord; to a slow fall, with slip on sleeves and an engaged swoop cord. It is not necessary to get spandex sleeves and slip ons if a slower fall rate is intended.

Swoop Cords effectively enhance breaking by creating a rigid wing. These cords loop over the hands and run along the inner seam of the suit to the waist. The swoop cords are tightened with full arm extension (upon braking), creating an instant wing only when you need it. To avoid this wing being engaged when reaching for a grip, we offer the "continuous swoop cord" which is one continuous line that reaches down one side, across the back at the hip, and up to the other side.
The Swoop Suit is our medium fall-rate RW suit because there is spandex only down the center of the back. This allows for slower fabric along the sides of the back, such as supplex or 4-ply, which creates a slightly fitted suit with the range for a slower fall.
Cordura is the most popular fabric to get for the booties because this also includes the knees, which is an important area to protect from wear over time.
Ballistic is a stiffer, heavier material and is reported to be more responsive in the air.
Double layer Drag Reinforcing
If you need to slow your fall rate, we offer three types of double layer drag reinforcing.
Double layer of 10 oz. brushed cotton, only on the legs
Double layer of 10 oz. brushed cotton, on both the arms and legs
Double layer of 10 oz. brushed cotton, lined on both the arms and legs with a 1.5 oz. zero-porous (ZP) material sandwiched between the lining
Swoop Suit Features
Mesh Lined Suit/Front
If selecting the color white for the front, lining it with mesh will prevent it from being see-through. The mesh lining also enables air flow to cool you down in the heat and adds an extra layer of warmth in colder climates
For added protection against wear and tear. Available on the knee and the butt panels.
The standard size is Medium 1.5 inch grips. Small grips are 1 inch and have the least amount of drag. TEAM grips are 2 inches and are often paired with 'Back of Arm' and 'Inseam' grips.
Pinstripes can be ordered with the traditional diagonal stripe, or as a single, vertical pinstripe down the middle of the grip.
Sure grip: a 'grippy' fabric is used on back of grips for a stronger finger hold
2-color grip: different color front/back
Inside Chest Pocket
Standard. This pocket is zippered and located inside the suit.
